The Regional Leadership Initiative and RLI 2.0 are leadership immersions for citizens throughout South Georgia designed to facilitate awareness of issues that are essential to the future success of the region by giving participants the necessary skills and training needed to effectively lead South Georgia in the 21st Century economy.

Guided by the belief that leadership is key to a region’s economic success, participants work collectively towards creating effective solutions to address significant challenges related to workforce development, education, and economic growth.

RLI is the original flagship program of South GeorgiaLEADS and was started in 2014 by economic development professionals across the region who understand the critical importance of investing in a new generation of leaders. RLI represents a leadership immersion for citizens throughout South Georgia designed to facilitate awareness of issues essential to the region’s future success by giving participants the necessary leadership skills and training.

Sessions take place monthly. A sample of previous session topics include:

  • Community Storytelling
  • Making a Regional Impact
  • Leveraging Tradition, Opportunity & Core Values
  • Creating Hope & Rebuilding Prosperity
  • Regional Capacity-Building
  • The Power of Collective Impact
